About the event
In 1873 Charters Towers was declared a goldfield. Part of this exhibition features a selection of mining and street scenes from around the 1880's to 1900's. Among those early pioneering families to arrive were the Great and Grant Parents and families of the artist, who made the city their home.
The second part is a selection of picturesque places along the Burdekin and Herbert River systems.
