A Poem for Grandma by Emma Hicks

Sand as white as clouds and plains a golden sunset,

Coiling rivers woven through the fabric of the forest, a dazzling green silhouette,

Unrelenting mountains and birds soaring high and free,

Flower blooming in all colours imaginable, and curious fish in the cyan blue sea

All of these have been illustrated in Grandma's art, 

And these paintings are mirrors, reflecting her soul and heart

For she was as strong and resilient as the mountains

As deep and profound as the sea

She has been battered against as the sand

And like rivers, she shapes the worls around her with her creativity

She's gentle like the flowers and a fighter like her birds, 

So Grandma hasn't gone you see, she lives on around us in this beautiful world.
